Blood Orange Says He Was Assaulted by Security at Lollapalooza Yesterday and Unfortunately It's Not Much of Surprise | NOISEY

uglygirlsclub:

So I don’t know if any of yall have heard about this already but one of my favorite artists Blood Orange (Dev Hynes) and his girlfriend, Samantha, were attacked by three security guards after playing a set at Lollapalooza a few days ago. During their set, he gave a speech about racism and police brutality while wearing a shirt with the names of Black victims of racially-motivated police and citizen brutality. A lot of people saw the attack and have been tweeting/posting to the Lollapalooza Facebook, but they’ve been taking all of the posts down and deleting comments about it. Now Dev and Samantha are asking if anyone who has experienced racial profiling, harassment, excessive force by NYPD and wants to speak in a documentary, to email WatchCopsNYC@gmail.com !!!!!

“STOP POLICE BRUTALITY, abuse of power, systematic oppression, prejudice. Watch cops. Film them. Speak up. Take care of yourselves and each other. It’s so important- life or death.”

also fuck Lollapalooza for choosing not to address this, you’re all trash.
